Rolling Along

Herbie still seems happy enough, which is a good thing. I steeled myself earlier this week to ring about cremation arrangements, and the details came through today from the Ashes Pet Crematorium. Ashes. In other parts of the country, they call them names like Sunnybank, or Lawnwood, but in Yorkshire, they tell it like it is.

Today, fortunately, he is still walking about, except when he's waving all four legs in the air.

If I weren't a million miles away, I would be hard-pressed to resist giving that little tummy a rub.

Hey you! I know women like to be organised, but enjoy 'now' rather than thinking about blooming crematoria!!

That tum looks decidedly cuddly....!

Today, Mum gave me the best advice in the world. I was having a major stress about Yogi and going on about stuff like "It feels like waiting for inevitable to happen" She said in such a positive way "we are all waiting for the inevitable, enjoy today and deal with it when it happens" My Mum is brilliant. I am going to try to take her advice but I KNOW just how difficult it is but how vital it is to stay positive. Hugs to you Herbie and Holly xxx

He had his tum shaved at the end of October for ultrasound, to check his heart was up to taking doxorubicin, so his tummy feels like suede, with the finest layer of hair growing back.

Fiona, Graham, you're right, I'm just finding this hard. Living in the moment is the right thing to do, but I'm not always managing to. The oncologist suggested that I tackle difficult things at the point when I felt I had the strength, knowing there would be moments when I wouldn't...

I think your oncologist was right. I will never know how Graham coped at the time. I thought sending off for such information was very harsh when I read your post but now I know why I quite understand.

Lesley, I'm caught between two principles: "Be Prepared" and "Don't trouble trouble till trouble troubles you". My mother was definitely in the "Be Prepared" camp, and I think I'm beginning to take after her!

I vote for being prepared, and taking care of it when you have the strength (I rather like that idea). How are you both doing?? Any updates??
